society. The ability to read and understand a message and take exception
or agree is a basic building block to democracy.
The list was created
for the librarian, teacher and parent; the books can be purchased from
your bookstore or the Red Balloon Bookstore. See the address and phone
numbers on the book list pages.
The list is multi-cultural,
the school and library can go the next step and create a book list for
your school and district. It is a very enriching exercise to create and
maintain. Please make your suggestions to our list. We need two copies
of the book and index to the messages to add your books to our list.

VALUES suggests the book list be copied by you and provided
to the families of your classroom children. These suggested readings and
the messages suggest to the community that you and your school want all
the children to grow and be successful and share the success. Three levels
of reading have been listed.
You may have books,
pictures and videos not on this list that support the messages as well
or better. This list is periodically being updated and we welcome your
suggestions. It is designed to be a priceless addition to character, choice
and family development.
